My dad was on maneuvers at Camp Claiborne in 1941. He was a cook so he was cooking in a field kitchen there. They may have know each other (although he was in a different unit -- 112th Engineers). His name was Earl Deitch.

DeleteMy father, Solomon "Slim" Nelson stood at that very same signpost for a photo. He was in the 164th Infantry.
